Realtor vs Consultant
While the two terms may seem very similar, a Realtor focuses on helping their clients buy or sell their properties. A Consultant instead is an advisor to their clients on building or investment opportunities in real estate.
You know you are dealing with a realtor mostly when you buy, sell, rent or lease a residential or commercial property. The agent will represent you throughout the process of your particular real estate transaction from the beginning until the closing date.
In contrast, a consultant is not an agent, but can advise if you need an agent for your particular case. There are many times when you need to be well informed on how to manage your properties for the best return of investment (ROI). The housing consultant can also advise you if either buying or renting works better for you, based on your specific financial situation.
In essence, an Agent focuses on getting a property out of the market as quickly as possible, where as the Consultant will help you make a decision on what works best for your particular situation and budget for a long term benefit.
